AKA Dave Gordon. Gorde’s career as a cartoonist began as a student at UMass Amherst in the mid-80’s. In 1987, he published his first book “Gordy - Hot, Hip, Happenin’, and Now!”, a collection of comic strips from his popular feature in The UMass Daily Collegian. With 20+ years of graphic design experience in advertising and publishing, he currently calls Boston, Massachusetts his home. Gorde spends his day hours as Senior Art Director/Principal of B Direct Marketing Communications (www.bdirectmktg.com). |
Mark received his BS and MS from SUNY Stony Brook in the mid-80s. He has spent the last 20 years in the software industry in New York City. A family man with close ties to the community, he spends much of his free time working with local youth groups. In his words, this helps him continue to ...feel “young.” It also provides a fresh market to try out new comic-related material. |
Mark, away at summer camp, walked into his bunk, nicknamed “Siberia.” He looked over to his bunkmate Gorde. “What’re you reading?,” he asked. “An X-Men comic book... it’s the Death of Kitty Pryde issue” Gorde replied. “Never heard of it. Any Good?” asked Mark. Gorde tossed him the comic book and said “Here. See for yourself." The rest – as they say – is history. |
